The Minister of Municipal Administration, S. Velumani, said Saturday that DMK President K. Stalin was dreaming of the possibility of elections to the Assembly being held in parallel with the Lok Sabha elections in 2019.
S addressing reporters after a party meeting in Ottapidaram constituency, he said that AIADMK was preparing for the by-elections in Vilathikulam and Ottapidaram, and would win constituencies with a margin of 50,000 votes.
"He (Mr. Stalin) said that the government would fall in 10 days, a month or three months. But the chief minister has consolidated his position, "he said.
Velumani said that AIADMK would join parties with a similar ideology for the next by-elections.
The ruling party will contest the election results by highlighting the social welfare regimes of former Chief Minister Jayalalithaa, who have been maintained by the current regime, he said.
Vice President Pollachi V. Jayaraman, Minister of Information and Publicity, Kadambur C. Raju, Adi Dravidar and Minister of Social Affairs, VM Rajalakshmi, District Secretary of AIADMK, S .Thellapandian and other party officials were present on this occasion.
