Telam Desam Party leader hacked to death in Kurnool district

Someswar Goud, a 45-year-old local leader of the Telugu Desam Party, was murdered by unidentified gunmen on Friday and Saturday night in Kurnool district, Rayalaseema region.

A disciple of the Deputy Chief Minister, KE Krishnamurthy, Mr. Goud, was murdered by the attackers, between the villages of Palledoddi and K. Venkatapuram, while he was returning home with his son after closing his shop of wine at midnight. While Someswar Goud was on his motorcycle, five assailants would have come on quads and attacked him. They fled the scene after the incident.

The police suspect the hand of some rivals and began to search for the guilty by registering a case. Meanwhile, tension was raging in Kurnool district after the murder.

Mr. Goud is from K. Venkatapuram and was also vice chairman of the Mandal Devanakonda party.

Goud's mortal remains were sent for an autopsy. The deceased person was an accused in a few cases, including a murder case in the mandal.
