Nitish Kumar wants to destroy me: Upendra Kushwaha

Bihar Chief Minister and JD (U) President Nitish Kumar is ready to destroy me, Union Minister Upendra Kushwaha, NDA ally, said on Monday, following reports that lawmakers of his Rashtriya Lok Samata party MPs could move to JD (U).

Mr Kushwaha called on opposition leader Sharad Yadav, who had come out of JD (U) last year. Calling Mr. Yadav "marg darshak" or mentor, Mr. Kushwaha said the meeting was only meant to discuss issues of social justice.

Kushwaha has threatened to leave the National Democratic Alliance if he does not get three Lok Sabha seats in the upcoming parliamentary elections.

"Nitish Kumar is used to partying. I do not know why he came to destroy Upendra Kushwaha and his party. But no matter what he does, he can not hurt me, "Kushwaha said.

According to reports, PSEL MLA Sudhanshu Shekhar met with JD (U) 's newly appointed Vice President Prashant Kishor. He, along with another legislator, Lalan Paswan. are speculated to pass loyalties to JD (U).

Mr. Kushwaha stated that the BJP should interfere in this ongoing conflict between him and Mr. Kumar. "We are both in the NDA and we are supposed to work together. I do not think Nitishji should do all this, "he said.

Kushwaha also asked to meet BJP President Amit Shah to discuss the issue.
