The award was created by the NWCG Executive Committee to recognize Paul Gleason's contributions to the Forest Fire Service. During a career of five decades, Paul was a passionate student of fire, a fire teacher and a firefighter leader. The purpose of this award is to recognize individuals or groups who share the same spirit and who embody the values ​​and principles of forest fire leadership. Boise Helitack's work in support of Wildland Fire's leadership development program has been a testament to initiative and innovation.
