Seven home quarantine offenders sent to the center

The Nalgonda District Administration sent seven people to the quarantine center at Mahatma Gandhi University (MGU) on Saturday after they were found in violation of their home quarantine standard.

All those who were workers from outside Telangana had recently returned and were quarantined at home. However, when authorities checked them on Saturday, they were found in violation of the order.

District collector Prashant Patil said these offenders are punishable under the law and are currently under the supervision of a doctor at the MGU closed center.

In addition, the same quarantine rule will be strictly applicable to all foreign returnees, in the interest of public safety. And daily surveillance is imposed on them by a team of police and doctors, he said.

Patil said residents, neighbors and residents who see such violations in the villages should report it immediately. The COVID-19 district control room and helplines – 1 800 425 1442 and 08682-244151 – are open 24 hours a day.
