Teaching Lessons in the Pandemic
July 24 10 a.m. Pacific, 1 p.m.-1 p.m. East, 6 p.m.-8 p.m. London

As educators, the COVID-19 pandemic challenged us all.

WWe were faced with the challenges of distance learning, while virtually managing students scattered around the world, keeping students enthusiastic and engaged via video, helping them to do customer discovery when they can't get out of the building and following uncertain teaching schedules now. and in the future. We all invented it as we went along and we started to see a glimmer of patterns of what works and what doesn't.

Since the pandemic, we have taught three distance learning classes – Hacking for Defense, Hacking for Oceans and our first of three Hacking for Recovery courses. I know I have learned a ton – some surprisingly good and some simply surprising.

But more importantly, there are hundreds of educators who have also learned valuable lessons. If you have learned something that you would like to share or want to know how others are changing their educational approaches to the pandemic, you are invited to join us virtually and collectively in this two hour online session (with an additional hour of breakout sessions for follow-up discussions on topics of interest.)

Some of the topics we will cover include:

  • Conversion and scaling up of existing programs and classes
  • Set up new programs from scratch
  • Improve diversity and inclusion in the teaching of technological innovation
  • Seize the opportunities from kindergarten to grade 12

We invite you to submit your own educational innovations for a session of virtual posters. We will also have discussions in sub-groups to engage in active mutual concessions.
